Wedge Shoes Guide

The platform wedge shoe offers more than just regular funky styles of wedge shoes, it adds balance and comfort. Platforms from sandals to boots are available from designer brands and budget friendly brands everywhere.

There's a reason I'm so crazy about platform shoes, and in particular platform wedges. Well, firstly, I'm not very tall, and I really love being tall. When I wear a platform shoe, I get a lot of taller of course, but I also get a lot of comments on my shoes. So, attention is another reason I like that form of shoe. But I can get attention from wearing any type of sassy shoe, so it's not really that. What makes a platform shoes so special is that I get all the height that I want, with all the attention and none of the discomfort of a stiletto heel. Platform wedge shoes are even more comfortable and stable than a regular stiletto platform.

A basic platform shoe has a heel that is equal to or nearly equal to a raised platform under the ball of the foot. The basic premise behind a platform shoe was originally to make wearing high heel easier. There isn't much strain or balance problems, when wearing a platform that is nearly equal to a heel. In the 70s and 90s, the platform heel became more of a trendy style shoe, and while to some extent that's true now, for the most part platform shoes are a mainstay.

The platform wedge shoe adds a significant difference in balance and strain over both regular platforms and stiletto heels. The wench platform starts at the heel, and supports the entire foot. The full support in heel, instep and the ball of the foot creates a very stable shoot a walk in, and even better it is extremely comfortable.

There are literally hundreds of different types of wedge heels, and platform styles. There's wood platform wedge heels, and cork wedge heels, plastic and leather covered wood heels available in just about every color and style as well is made by all kinds of famous fashion designers.

What I love about my platform wedges is that they fit in so many situations. I can wear my sexy white platform wedge sandals out shopping, and throw a special dress on and wear them to a dinner date.

My platform wedge boots are a little funky to wear for formal occasions, but I love getting compliments on them when I wear them to work or during the winter just walking around.

People often stop me and ask where I got my shoes, or boots, and, unfortunately, when I bought my shoes, they were just trendy shoes I found in specialty shops. It used to be harder to say where I got them. I bought many of mine at a little store in Capital Hill Denver area called Fashion Nation. A small boutique shop that specialized in funky wear and always had the cutest fashionable platform shoes. But today the same boots and shoes are sold everywhere. Heck even Dolce and Gabbana, Dior, Gucci and Luis Vuitton have incredibly cute and sexy platform shoes for sale. There is no shortage of places to buy cute platform wedge shoes.
