They're high, don't mistake them by their picture. These shoes will add a lot of height, allowing you to wear some longer jeans (hi, can we say LONG legs faked! Woohoo) People have some good things to say about them, and they're the best selling shoe I have on this site. I've featured it in different posts and everyone who has bought one has been pleased. What I hear is that they're a little narrow, so go up a half-size, if you can. Another thing is, they aren't like normal sneakers, you can't just put them on and expect miraculous comfort. What I love most about them is that they make my foot look slim. Yes, I'm weird, I've accepted it.

These are not magic shoes! I can't stress this enough. They aren't for running or hiking etcetera. They are for walking. Your butt isn't going to magically disappear after a week of wear, you won't get the calves of a trained dancer. What they will do is force you to walk a certain way to work specific muscles and cushion you feet. Read the reviews and decide for yourself. Personally, I love them.

Let's talk about black platform wedge casual shoes. The shoes you wear every day or that just go with everything. Shoes that you don't have to think about if they go with this or that. You get up, you put your jeans or shorts or culottes (please don't, not the culottes, for the love of everything good and holy – not culottes) on and then grab the shoes you /know/ work well with them.

Dress it up, dress it down and imagine this shoe with a pair of white short-shorts! There's just no going wrong with it!

Lastly, let's look at the dressy black wedge platform shoe. A specific shoe that's made for a casual evening out for dinner or a sparkling little sexy evening gown.
One of the most difficult things you'll ever do is try to find a dressy black wedge for an evening gown or a sparkling cocktail gown. It's not impossible, but it's freaking hard. Combine that with a “platform” shoe and it's an all out war with designers. The shoes I picked out took hours of research and there still isn't an exactly perfect shoe for an evening gown that's both a wedge and a platform. I've put the best that I can find below. oh DEER! Women's Valley Wedge A black patent high heel shoe with a sweet little bow at the top. It's not gaudy at all and the heel is high enough to make your nose bleed. The heel makes it a little impossible to wear with an evening gown or cocktail dress, but imagine how lovely it would be with a suit, jeans or a little black dress for a date.

The next and only shoe that makes my heart go pitter patter is this little number from Bebe :
Bebe Women's Solaris Platform Sandal A four and half inch heel with a one and half inch platform, it's fantastic. The best part is, for me anyway, is if looked at from afar, the strappy part looks like satin.

Going back to the 1920's to the 1940's, when glamor was made fabulous by such names as Gloria Swanson, Joan Crawford, Mary Pickford, Judy Garland (yes, Judy too!) - let's be honest, I could write a book that included stars he outfitted with shoes - but the point is the very inventor of the cork wedge platform made it for starlets. They were dazzling and chic for the time. (Main reason being that leather and wood were in full reserve during the wartime, cork - not so much.) Presto, chango, ala ... yeah, poof - we'll just go with 'poof', the platform cork wedge was born.

Now, fast forward nearly a hundred years, and they're back in style. Not just in style, but in everyday style. They aren't for - they aren't only for - the red carpet. Alright, the inherent problem with that is that /most/ wedge platforms with a cork heel are not going to be red carpet worthy by today's standards. Yes, even those bright glittery gold wedges you've sitting in your closet. But hey, so what, right? I mean you can wear those with jeans. And I know you have a pair of those.

So let's look at some great cork wedges that might work with ... various outfits.

Fergie Women's Quickset - a sexy shoes that comes in a variety of uppers : gold, black snake, blue snake, chesnut sna- ... lots of snakes there. Anywayyyy... this is a beautiful shoe to pair with a pair (see what I did thar?) of skinny jeans, fat jeans, wide legged jeans, wide butts, skinny butts. It's a great pair of shoes, is what I'm trying to say. And at less than $60, you can have a really balanced cork wedge platform shoe.

My next recommendation? Guess Womens Jingman. At $89.00? These are sexy sexy sexy. But, and this is a big but, they're also flirty. They're that sort of shoe that makes you feel... girly, and pretty without the Bedazzler (Don't lie, I know you owned one once.) Great with jeans, beautiful with a summer dress, they'll even look amazing with a little black evening dress. Red carpet ? No. It's just not going to happen with a cork wedge platform.

Lastly, in my special considerations pile, is Vince Camuto Women's Blaze. Not cheap at $101.60, but not anywhere near an Emili Pucci either. (I'm not above spending $600 for a pair of shoes, but I draw the line at cork wedges for that much.) But we're not talking about Emilio (sorry Em!), we're talking about these lovely awesome gladiator sandal cork wedge platforms with the sexy little braided leather gold straps. What's so special about these? They have the cork (which means cushion, cushion, cushion) and they have a wood heel, which means office worthy! Black, sexy, hot, pencil-skirt-short-jacket-suit, office shoes. (*deep breath*) So yeah... I like them!

Again, the prices vary depending on what style and brand name you go with. Wedge sandals cost between $30 and $50. They have a much lower heel than many platform shoes, which makes them easier to walk in. If you want something for a long walk at the beach or something comfortable to wear around the house, then MUDD is one of many shoe brands that make lower heeled sandals for an affordable price. Ok I’ve written about blue wedge shoes, but today I’m going to talk about navy wedge shoes. Why? Because well a) I love wedge shoes and b) I love navy. I mean I just bought a navy sofa and we painted our east living room wall navy, so I don’t just say I love navy, I mean it. Blue in general is a great color, however, let’s be honest, most blues do not go with much. Jeans and… ok jeans are about it right? I’m being a little facetious, but navy is fantastic because you get all the blue and none of the hassle of the “oh crap these are cute shoes, but they don’t go with this outfit”. Navy wedges go with just about anything, save black. Unless you want to look bruised, I’d leave the little black dress to some spicier colors (like a pair of red wedges, hawt).

I'll admit I have a problem. I have a thing for shoes. And my favorites are wedge dress shoes. I love wedges and the fancier ones the better. The fact that I love shoes is important. I don't write this blog because I have to, I write it because I love to. And I have a special love for wedge shoes. If you know what I mean? Everyone has that pair of shoes they wear over and over because it goes with everything. Mine is a pair of white wedge sandals with a rubber heel. Of course, if you have an outfit and need a pair of green wedges, the problem becomes finding a pair of green wedge shoes. There aren't many choices are there? And wedge shoes are the particular choice of women that want a high heel shoe but not the problems associated with high heels (like wobbling about because you have no support).

There are plenty of reasons to get a pair of green wedges, not the least of which is it's a beautiful color. It's also unusual. Honestly, there aren't a lot of green outfits and even fewer green shoes. The thing is that green wedges are really pretty! So if you have a green prom dress, or sweater, you want to match it with a great pair of shoes. It's kind of difficult to do when there just aren't a lot of shoes to do so with, and the ones that are there aren't easy to walk in.

Quite unexpectedly, while I was writing this post, I found a bunch of different green wedge shoes on various websites. I think I was more stunned that there were more green than silver ones. I always though green was an unusual color, but at one site I found 5 pages of them! Of course, not all were stellar (ugh to some of them), but most of them were really hot and some were even sexy. Green is such a funky color sometimes that it gets overlooked by a lot of shoppers. But what an outfit when you can match a pair of shoes to a small floral print or some stripes. Outfits always look better when accessories and shoes match.

Wedges offer something that other shoes don't: comfort. They're shaped to fit the foot (which was what the original creator, Ferragamo, had in mind). They're meant to support the arch, heel and toe of a woman's foot. All the height and none of the problems, is how I like to put it. So if you're interested in buying a pair of green shoes, I'd stick with wedges because you can get some height.

So what are the problems with green shoes? Well pair them with the wrong color and you'll look like a Christmas decoration. And unless that's the look you want to go for, you'll want to really see, together, the outfit you're going to pair the shoes with. Green looks really great with yellow, but it's the shade of green and the shade of yellow that matters. A forest green and pastel yellow look amazing together. Lemon and Kelly? Not so much. Red and green? Unless you're dressing up for a Christmas pageant, terrible, terrible idea!

In the end, choose green shoes because they're pretty and unusual, but also be careful about what you pair them with!
