Clear Wedge Shoes: Cinderella or Stripper?

I've been wandering about, trying to find styles of clear wedge shoes and I've made a decision: there are three basic types of clear wedges. First, there is the stripper style - those sexy, funky high heels with a giant platform. Next there is the Cinderella magical sho,e which I'm sure is for weddings; this is the style that looks great with wedding gowns or lacy dresses. Lastly, there is the basic style for very casual wear (e.g. flip flops, slip-ons etc.). That's it, there isn't really any median shoes that can be worn say with a suit or to the office. While that's great news for 99% of you who wish to wear a wedge to your wedding, or clubbing, the other 1% who just like the style won't be serviced very well. So if you're looking for a clear wedge shoe to wear to work at a professional office place, forget it. If you're looking for something fun, pretty, funky or just plain sexy, stay tuned because I've found some really cute shoes.

What's important to know about choosing a clear wedge shoe is that it's usually pretty obvious which ones can be worn with your wedding dress and which ones are better worn when out clubbing or shopping. If there is any doubt about the austerity of a shoe, it's better to assume it is for casual wear only. The fact of the matter is it doesn't matter if the shoe isn't formal enough, if you like it and you want to wear it, it's your choice. My wedding was very formal, I mean even down to formal wedding invitations. Everything was black and white, austere and modern. And then I went and wore red patent platform wedge heels. Go figure right? Not only did I not care what other people thought (they weren't paying for it - right?), I actually enjoyed myself more because I knew what I had on under my dress. At one point someone asked me if I was wearing red shoes.. next thing I know half the wedding is taking pictures of just my shoes. I can't tell you how many people either a) got a laugh out of it or b) thought it they looked fantastic. Moral of the story? Wear what you want!

Basically the point is: wear what you want and forget about convention, tradition or any other reasons to avoid a shoe you fall in love with.
