They're high, don't mistake them by their picture. These shoes will add a lot of height, allowing you to wear some longer jeans (hi, can we say LONG legs faked! Woohoo) People have some good things to say about them, and they're the best selling shoe I have on this site. I've featured it in different posts and everyone who has bought one has been pleased. What I hear is that they're a little narrow, so go up a half-size, if you can. Another thing is, they aren't like normal sneakers, you can't just put them on and expect miraculous comfort. These are fashion sneakers, and like all good fashionable shoes, they need to be broken in. They're sexy and sassy and perfect for clubbing with jeans or just hanging around with friends. What I love most about them is that they make my foot look slim. Yes, I'm weird, I've accepted it.
So that's fashion sneakers, now let's go into a walking sneaker. I only have one word for you: Skechers. And which style do I recommend?

These are not magic shoes! I can't stress this enough. They aren't for running or hiking etcetera. They are for walking. Your butt isn't going to magically disappear after a week of wear, you won't get the calves of a trained dancer. What they will do is force you to walk a certain way to work specific muscles and cushion you feet. Read the reviews and decide for yourself. Personally, I love them.

Let's talk about black platform wedge casual shoes. The shoes you wear every day or that just go with everything. Shoes that you don't have to think about if they go with this or that. You get up, you put your jeans or shorts or culottes (please don't, not the culottes, for the love of everything good and holy – not culottes) on and then grab the shoes you /know/ work well with them.

Dress it up, dress it down and imagine this shoe with a pair of white short-shorts! There's just no going wrong with it!

Lastly, let's look at the dressy black wedge platform shoe. A specific shoe that's made for a casual evening out for dinner or a sparkling little sexy evening gown.
One of the most difficult things you'll ever do is try to find a dressy black wedge for an evening gown or a sparkling cocktail gown. It's not impossible, but it's freaking hard. Combine that with a “platform” shoe and it's an all out war with designers. The shoes I picked out took hours of research and there still isn't an exactly perfect shoe for an evening gown that's both a wedge and a platform. I've put the best that I can find below. The heel makes it a little impossible to wear with an evening gown or cocktail dress, but imagine how lovely it would be with a suit, jeans or a little black dress for a date.

The next and only shoe that makes my heart go pitter patter is this little number from Bebe :
Bebe Women's Solaris Platform Sandal A four and half inch heel with a one and half inch platform, it's fantastic. The best part is, for me anyway, is if looked at from afar, the strappy part looks like satin.

Ok I’ve written about blue wedge shoes, but today I’m going to talk about navy wedge shoes. Why? Because well a) I love wedge shoes and b) I love navy. I mean I just bought a navy sofa and we painted our east living room wall navy, so I don’t just say I love navy, I mean it. Blue in general is a great color, however, let’s be honest, most blues do not go with much. Jeans and… ok jeans are about it right? I’m being a little facetious, but navy is fantastic because you get all the blue and none of the hassle of the “oh crap these are cute shoes, but they don’t go with this outfit”. Navy wedges go with just about anything, save black. Unless you want to look bruised, I’d leave the little black dress to some spicier colors (like a pair of red wedges, hawt).

So I won’t go into other navy shoes, although I could, because this site is about wedge heels not spike high heels (although I’m tempted to make one of those too). Many navy wedges have the same problem that other wedges have, they’re made to go with casual or semi-casual clothing. Thank you God for Michael Kors, right? The man makes the most fantabulous shoes, many of which are wedges, and are great for evening or semi-formal wear. While we love navy and wedges the problem stands with finding navy shoes with a wedge heel and closed toe and aren’t casual. Not that we don’t want the other styles too, right? So, while not impossible, it’s difficult to find some of the rarer navy wedge heels; i.e. dressy, closed toe etc. To that end I’ve put together a bunch of different styles that work well with all different situations. Low wedges can often include both fashion and ked style wedge shoes, but there are specific types which are for function, and fashion. Wedge sneakers aren't as outlandish as it might sound. In fact, most tennis shoe styles are wedges. Wedges just mean the sole of the shoe fits from the toe to the heel, and as it moves from the ball of the foot it triangulates into a tall or low heel.

Fashion wedge tennis shoes are more for wearing to the local mall, shopping or just hanging out. They look fantastic with culottes (yes I know, fashion disaster, but some are really cute!), chinos and capri pants. They're also really great with linen pants. They're not really for heavy exercise activities, but they're quite comfortable for walking (not power walking). They won't look great with many skirts, but wear them with a great denim skirt they'll look wonderful. Another great outfit they look good with is the tennis dress or shorts and a t-shirt.

If you're trying to find a pair of cheap wedge shoes, there are many choices. The cost of wedge style tennis shoes varies by brand and materials, just like regular shoes. You'll find a healthy variety on Internet sites, or even Old Navy. Choosing to wear this style of wedge isn't necessarily choosing an outrageous style. As pointed out above, many tennis shoe styles are, in fact, wedges. These style of shoes are usually much more comfortable than the flatter style of shoes because they have a lot of cushioning on the heel. They also look really good! I can't help but throw that in there!

If I had a million dollars, I'd have a pair of wedge shoes in every color and style possible. At the moment I actually have quite a few pairs, including a number of wedge sneakers. It seems there are a lot of negative thoughts about the wedge sneaker, but they are quite gorgeous. If you're going to wear a pair of sneakers with a jean skirt, they should be a wedge. Not only does the wedge raise you in height, they'll make your legs look amazing, like if you're wearing stilettos (only more comfortable). It's a great look which I encourage everyone to wear.
