Silver is that rare dressy shoe that goes with every formal outfit. It also adds shine and shimmer to a silk or satin dress and it doesn't upstage a dress that's filled with pearls, beading or rhinestones. A great pair of silver wedges can be worn with any style of cocktail dress or even a long formal dress - and better yet, any color of formal dress. While I wouldn't wear them with a pair of bermuda shorts, I'm one of those weird people that think metallic shoes look great with shorts; even jean shorts. I also believe that they're terrific with jeans and pants. So don't get bogged down thinking that new pair of silver wedge sandals with rhinestones are going to sit in your closet until the next formal or sem-formal event. Depending on what you wear on top, they can be pulled out of your closet for just about any occasion.
Remember to accessorize as well. A great pair of silver shoes deserves a few matching accessories. If it's for a formal event, a bright glittery silver handbag and some bling jewelry will make the ensemble pop. That 'wow' factor that people talk about, that'll be you!

If the outfit is more casual, a few understated pieces of silver jewelry would be perfect. A silver chain with a tiny pendant, a silver bracelet. Remember the keyword is understated. Of course, if you have an outfit and need a pair of green wedges, the problem becomes finding a pair of green wedge shoes. There aren't many choices are there? And wedge shoes are the particular choice of women that want a high heel shoe but not the problems associated with high heels (like wobbling about because you have no support).

There are plenty of reasons to get a pair of green wedges, not the least of which is it's a beautiful color. It's also unusual. Honestly, there aren't a lot of green outfits and even fewer green shoes. The thing is that green wedges are really pretty! So if you have a green prom dress, or sweater, you want to match it with a great pair of shoes. It's kind of difficult to do when there just aren't a lot of shoes to do so with, and the ones that are there aren't easy to walk in.

Quite unexpectedly, while I was writing this post, I found a bunch of different green wedge shoes on various websites. I think I was more stunned that there were more green than silver ones. I always though green was an unusual color, but at one site I found 5 pages of them! Of course, not all were stellar (ugh to some of them), but most of them were really hot and some were even sexy. Green is such a funky color sometimes that it gets overlooked by a lot of shoppers. But what an outfit when you can match a pair of shoes to a small floral print or some stripes. Outfits always look better when accessories and shoes match.

Wedges offer something that other shoes don't: comfort. They're shaped to fit the foot (which was what the original creator, Ferragamo, had in mind). They're meant to support the arch, heel and toe of a woman's foot. All the height and none of the problems, is how I like to put it. So if you're interested in buying a pair of green shoes, I'd stick with wedges because you can get some height.

So what are the problems with green shoes? Well pair them with the wrong color and you'll look like a Christmas decoration. And unless that's the look you want to go for, you'll want to really see, together, the outfit you're going to pair the shoes with. Green looks really great with yellow, but it's the shade of green and the shade of yellow that matters. A forest green and pastel yellow look amazing together. Lemon and Kelly? Not so much. Red and green? Unless you're dressing up for a Christmas pageant, terrible, terrible idea!

In the end, choose green shoes because they're pretty and unusual, but also be careful about what you pair them with!

The women’s wedge shoe style ranges from casual to sophisticated and vary in many heights, colors and styles. On a typical ladies wedge shoe, the heel of the shoe sits under the heel of the foot, but with a wedge shoe the heel runs down the foot, from the back to the middle or even the front of the shoe. The wedge shoe is a particular type of platform shoe and has been popular since the 1930s. The very first wedge had cellophane straps and did not have a distinct heel. The popularity of wedge shoes fluctuates and the trend depends on the hundreds designs that are revealed each year.

The creator of the wedge shoe was Salvatore Ferragamo, an Italian designer. In 1935 he created the wedge heel in 1936. In his design, he used wood and cork due to the shortage of leather and rubber. At the time cork was more popular than wood was because it was much lighter in weight and was also very durable and sturdy.

The wedge shoe became popular during World War II because there was a lack in both rubber and leather in the United States; they were needed for the war. The fashion at this time was height and the ladies wedge shoes offered this and they were an easier style heel to walk in.

In the 1970s, the wedge began to look more outrageous with louder colors. The wedge heel shoe was then worn by both men and women, where as earlier it was only for women. In the 1990s, the wedge was back in style again. Wedge sneakers appeared and were seen on many celebrities.

The wedge returned once more in the summer of 2006. The style was cork heels that were wrapped in rope. Straps and ankle wraps were options that secured the shoes to the feet.

A woman can never have too many shoes, right? Shoes are like the icing to a cake. They complete your entire outfit and add that “wow factor” that other accessories cannot! As with most wardrobe items, shoes are available in whatever color, style, size and price range a shopper can imagine. One can tell a lot from a person by the shoes they are wearing. It is almost like an extension of their personality. That being said, let’s take a look at a bold pair of shoes, that every woman should have in their closet, a pair of red wedges, one pair for each season of course!

Depending upon the time of year and what look one is trying to achieve, style is one of the most important factors when on the prowl for a pair of red wedge shoes. Perhaps, in cooler weather, a pair of red wedge boots may fit one’s bill. They are closed toed and vary in shaft length, from full leg to ankle length. Quality wedge boots are mainly available in suede and leather. There are also just plain red wedge shoes, without any boot-like qualities. One would not have to worry about a certain shaft length, and would have a variety of choices to choose from.
