A woman can never have too many shoes, right? Shoes are like the icing to a cake. They complete your entire outfit and add that “wow factor” that other accessories cannot! As with most wardrobe items, shoes are available in whatever color, style, size and price range a shopper can imagine. One can tell a lot from a person by the shoes they are wearing. It is almost like an extension of their personality. That being said, let’s take a look at a bold pair of shoes, that every woman should have in their closet, a pair of red wedges, one pair for each season of course!
Depending upon the time of year and what look one is trying to achieve, style is one of the most important factors when on the prowl for a pair of red wedge shoes. Perhaps, in cooler weather, a pair of red wedge boots may fit one’s bill. They are closed toed and vary in shaft length, from full leg to ankle length. Quality wedge boots are mainly available in suede and leather. There are also just plain red wedge shoes, without any boot-like qualities. One would not have to worry about a certain shaft length, and would have a variety of choices to choose from. Completely closed-toed to peek-a-boo styles are available and many with a cute little buckle, bow, ruffle or tie to add that extra flair. Now, for the warmer weather, there are so many girly choices! For those that love that espadrille look, but do not care for the lace up straps, one may like a straw-like platform wedge sandal in canvas that has a red polka dot pattern. If polka dots or other patterns are not a favorite, maybe a solid red sling back wedge may be more for the everyday casual look and also may coordinate more with one’s wardrobe. For those formal events and those hot nights out on the town, there cannot be a better color to wear out than red! How about a pair of sparkly red wedges, or perhaps a subtler satin pair? A strappy leather red wedge paired up with that little black dress would add that finishing touch. One may be surprised that the wedge draws perhaps more attention than to one’s outfit!
As with any type of shoe, it is important to have the correct size wedge for your feet. Since there are so many types of wedges, from wedge pumps to wedge sneakers, it is important to make sure the shoes fit one’s feet comfortably. Also, remember with wedges, one does have a choice with how high the wedge is. The higher the wedge the more stable and the more support your foot has.
Because wedges are becoming increasingly popular many shoe designers have been creating their own lines. Now, there is no need to pay well over $300.00 for a pair of designer wedges (unless, of course, one simply must have those wedges that Megan Fox wore at her latest movie premiere). There are various stores online and in stores that offer a wide variety of red wedge shoes at a reasonable price, so that every women can have that fabulous pair of red wedge shoes in her closet!

One day history will write about the women of the year 2000 and their trends. When they do, I hope the include the most fantastic trends; red wedding dresses and red wedge shoes. Actually combining those two would be even better, red wedding wedge shoes. Yummers!
Women have been bundled up, confined, defined and laid out by every man in the world. We've put up with corsets, foot confines, spike heels, long dresses in summer, layers upon layers of clothing and I'm glad to say that it's finally women who are designing women. Am I saying that only women designers are defining the styles today? No. What I'm saying is that women are defining themselves, and designers are smart enough to develop for us, not at us. Lets take for example what is happening throughout the designer community. Nearly all major designers are now stepping into the plus size markets. Now why is that important? Because the average size in the USA is a 14, not a size 8, 6, 4 or 2. So now women finally have a choice of designer wear in their size. This translates into shoes as well.
A great pair of red wedge shoes is more comfortable than any spike or stiletto heeled shoe. The runways are filled with spiked heels, but recently you'll see a lot more wedge shoes. There is good reason for that. Wedge shoes are 1) more comfortable than stiletto or spike heels 2) They're sexy 3) They can be any fabric, color or style (sandal, platform, open toe, peep toe, close toe etc), 4) They give height without discomfort, therefore you get the effects of a heel without the high probability of falling on your face if you're uncoordinated.
Prices for various designer red wedges range from the low to mid range at shops like Onestopplus Red Wedge Shoes, while red wedge shoes at Shoes.com can go from $19 bucks to $600. It all depends on the designer and shoe style. Fabrics play their role in price, but a designer makes more of the difference. Remember that you get what you pay for 90% of the time. If you want a really sexy, funky and fashionable shoe that is made with the utmost detail and coutoure in mind, you'll go with designers like Proenza and Marc Jacobs (see pics).

Obviously these two shoes are going to be more than just expensive. They are ridiculously cool though. If you check out the Marc Jacobs (left) you can see the heel is actually under the arch and there is no back heel. I can't vouch for the comfort of the shoe, but seriously, how cool is that wedge shoe?? Designers like that come up with some pretty cool things and, while I'm sure many of us can think of something kooky, very few of us could put it into a functional shoe.
Now if you look to the right you can see the Proenza shoe, also not a cheap shoe, but more of a WOW factor, and obviously a bit more functional. I mean the Marc Jacob shoe is hello wow, but I really can't see wearing it to a cocktail party. Now there are some exciting designers that don't cost a month's mortgage and are very fashionable.

When you want to be sexy and stylish, a fashion diva, color is the way to choose a shoe. Gold, red, silver, purple and pink can brighten up a pair of jeans or add pizazz to a simple skirt and blouse combo. Pick brown wedge shoes for some class and posh.
I've always loved that word: posh. It's so distinctively British, but there really isn't an American equivalent. Posh is a state of mind. Of course now it's associated with Victoria Beckham, but really, with the way she dresses, the posh crown belongs squarely on her head. Thank goodness for fashion icons who make it ok to wear a pair of red wedge heels with plain jeans or a sassy sundress.
Remember when all our choices boiled down to affordable black and white pumps? Occasionally, we had a multicolored shoe that worked with a number of outfits, but normally our little pumps just worked with everything. Those days are gone, and thank the powers that be of that! Whip out your colors girls, because a simple belt and handbag can give you the opportunity to wear any shoe you want with just about any outfit you want.

My mom used to say that all the time (her name is Anne). Apparently it came from a book for children she used to read to her kids (she's a teacher). Whenever I hear red shoes, I think of that book and my mother who would have loved to wear her red shoes, but always held back because she thought it only went with a few outfits.

Perhaps you've been dying to own a pair of red wedge shoes, but aren't ready to invest in a shoe that only goes with a few outfits? That used to be the case, but today you can wear a red shoes with jeans. It's not as cut and dried as slipping on a a pair of red hot sassy shoes with purple dress, however, there are a lot of choices for them.
What really doesn't go with red shoes? Well unless you want to look like a rainbow I'd stay away from bright purples. Muted colors are great, even better are whites, navy and black. Yellow can be pretty as well. Greens are a little iffy (but you can look very Christmas-y =P)
Red Wedge Shoes are a really great investment. Red is sexy, steamy. Red hot, red blooded, passionate. Isn't that what you think of when you hear the word “red”? When you wear red you're wearing the color of love.

When it comes to gold wedge shoes, it all comes down to glamor. Gold just makes you feel like a 1930s movie star, even in a pair of capris. Gold is gorgeous and can be so classy. Oddly enough, gold shoes can be worn with jeans and party dresses alike.

Not all gold shoes are glamorous, some are plain fugly (freakin (sorry this is a semi-kid friendly site) + ugly). When you're about to buy a gold shoe, be sure the gold color is pretty and not flat. Usually there are customer reviews on a shoe, if you can't try it on yourself, read up on the shoe.
Pink And Purple: The New Blacks
Pink wedge shoes and purple wedge shoes are so in, they're pushing black out. For a long time pink was the taboo color of shoe. The 80s kinda ruined the color. Pink was used a little bit too much. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your view, the 80s are making a comeback. Very fortunately, so is pink. Pink was one of the great things about the 80s.
