What happens to a girl in a shoe shop when she finds the most adorable shoes, but has nothing to wear them with? I guess most of the smarter women (definitely not me) just go off and try to find a pair that goes with an outfit. Now me, I'm more of a shoe gal. I'd rather buy an outfit to go with a shoe, than vice versa. Which is how I came to be a very bad girl. And how I also came to be waiting for the postman everyday until my lovely shoes arrive. (PS: they have... and they're nummy!)

Now you tell me, are these the shoes that anyone could resist?

Now gorgeous as these shoes are, I don't have a lot of purple in my closet so it's obvious I had to skip these gorgeous shoes, or buy some things to match them. What's a girl to do?

Buy a new dress, new belt and a new blouse, that's what this girl did. If I'm completely honest, I also bought a new skirt and pants, but that's because the clothes were so cute.

First of all, I found two belts that are perfect and both at the same spot and if you don't think they're completely adorable.. well you will:

I have to admit it was hard to pick which was my favorite (that's probably why I had to buy both), but the plaid one is too amazing for words. The great part about the plaid is that the colors are so small you can wear them with purple wedges or pink.

Belts are one thing that makes it possible to wear a shoe with tons of different outfits. It just brings the outfit together with the shoes, without having to have the exact color in the clothing.

If you've read any of my other posts, you'll know I'm a huuuuge Sex and the City fan. I can't remember any show that depicted my love for shoes any better than the one episode where SJP (Carrie) sees a pair of shoes in the window and says "hello lover". That is pretty much how I felt when I saw these shoes.

There are other purple wedges that are just as gorgeous, and I can always find more purple styles. Once you find one pair of funky wedges, you realize that there isn't a need for only black, white, beige, taupe etc. shoes in your closet. But there is a most definitive need for colors that make you feel vibrant and alive; like purple.

So besides the belt, I bought a pretty cute dress. I'll post more pictures of it when it gets here. I don't want to tout something that hasn't been tried on yet. I will say that I bought it at eDressMe - dresses for all occasions, which is a shop I heard about first on some tv show. They're actually on all kinds of tv shows, that's why I can't narrow down where I saw them, but the dresses they had were replicas of the red carpet dresses that celebrities were wearing. So I'll plug them a little just because they're awesome.

I've always loved that word: posh. It's so distinctively British, but there really isn't an American equivalent. Posh is a state of mind. Remember when all our choices boiled down to affordable black and white pumps? Whip out your colors girls, because a simple belt and handbag can give you the opportunity to wear any shoe you want with just about any outfit you want.

Anne Likes Red

My mom used to say that all the time (her name is Anne). Apparently it came from a book for children she used to read to her kids (she's a teacher). Whenever I hear red shoes, I think of that book and my mother who would have loved to wear her red shoes, but always held back because she thought it only went with a few outfits.

Perhaps you've been dying to own a pair of red wedge shoes, but aren't ready to invest in a shoe that only goes with a few outfits? That used to be the case, but today you can wear a red shoes with jeans. It's not as cut and dried as slipping on a a pair of red hot sassy shoes with purple dress, however, there are a lot of choices for them.

What really doesn't go with red shoes? Well unless you want to look like a rainbow I'd stay away from bright purples. Muted colors are great, even better are whites, navy and black. Yellow can be pretty as well. Greens are a little iffy (but you can look very Christmas-y =P)

Red Wedge Shoes are a really great investment. Red is sexy, steamy. Red hot, red blooded, passionate. Isn't that what you think of when you hear the word “red”? When you wear red you're wearing the color of love.

All that Glitters

When it comes to gold wedge shoes, it all comes down to glamor. Gold just makes you feel like a 1930s movie star, even in a pair of capris. Gold is gorgeous and can be so classy. Oddly enough, gold shoes can be worn with jeans and party dresses alike.

Not all gold shoes are glamorous, some are plain fugly (freakin (sorry this is a semi-kid friendly site) + ugly). When you're about to buy a gold shoe, be sure the gold color is pretty and not flat. Usually there are customer reviews on a shoe, if you can't try it on yourself, read up on the shoe.

Pink And Purple: The New Blacks

Pink wedge shoes and purple wedge shoes are so in, they're pushing black out. For a long time pink was the taboo color of shoe. The 80s kinda ruined the color. Pink was used a little bit too much. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your view, the 80s are making a comeback. Very fortunately, so is pink. Pink was one of the great things about the 80s.

Purple is just as sassy as pink and is just as much fun to wear. I'm not a gal that prefers a bright purple shoe, but I love the muted deep purple wedge shoes and lavender wedges that totally make you feel amazing.

There is something frivolous, fun and audacious about wearing a pair of pink or purple wedges.
