They're high, don't mistake them by their picture. These shoes will add a lot of height, allowing you to wear some longer jeans (hi, can we say LONG legs faked! Woohoo) People have some good things to say about them, and they're the best selling shoe I have on this site. I've featured it in different posts and everyone who has bought one has been pleased. What I hear is that they're a little narrow, so go up a half-size, if you can. Another thing is, they aren't like normal sneakers, you can't just put them on and expect miraculous comfort. These are fashion sneakers, and like all good fashionable shoes, they need to be broken in. They're sexy and sassy and perfect for clubbing with jeans or just hanging around with friends. What I love most about them is that they make my foot look slim. Yes, I'm weird, I've accepted it.
So that's fashion sneakers, now let's go into a walking sneaker. I only have one word for you: Skechers. And which style do I recommend?

The best brand of black platform wedge sneaker for walking is Skechers Women's Shape Ups - Strength Fitness Walking Sneaker (Skechers Women's Shape Ups - Strength Fitness Walking Sneaker) I'm not talking a day out shopping with the gals, no this shoe is for serious walkers. It has a heel that rolls properly from heel to toe as you move, working all the right muscles. And it keeps your weight centered instead of either toe or heel – making it really comfortable. This shoe is built to improve your muscles while you walk, whether that's to the mall or actual exercising your legs.

According to Skecher's advertising the Shape Ups are designed specifically to build muscle and improve your posture as well as reduce stress on knee and ankle joints. The fact that the shoes are extremely cute and have a nice tall heel is a bonus.

These are not magic shoes! I can't stress this enough. They aren't for running or hiking etcetera. They are for walking. Your butt isn't going to magically disappear after a week of wear, you won't get the calves of a trained dancer. What they will do is force you to walk a certain way to work specific muscles and cushion you feet. Read the reviews and decide for yourself. Personally, I love them.

Black Platform Casual Wedge Shoes

Let's talk about black platform wedge casual shoes. The shoes you wear every day or that just go with everything. Shoes that you don't have to think about if they go with this or that. One of the most difficult things you'll ever do is try to find a dressy black wedge for an evening gown or a sparkling cocktail gown. It's not impossible, but it's freaking hard. oh DEER! Women's Valley Wedge A black patent high heel shoe with a sweet little bow at the top. It's not gaudy at all and the heel is high enough to make your nose bleed. The heel makes it a little impossible to wear with an evening gown or cocktail dress, but imagine how lovely it would be with a suit, jeans or a little black dress for a date.

The next and only shoe that makes my heart go pitter patter is this little number from Bebe :
Bebe Women's Solaris Platform Sandal A four and half inch heel with a one and half inch platform, it's fantastic. The best part is, for me anyway, is if looked at from afar, the strappy part looks like satin.

Going back to the 1920's to the 1940's, when glamor was made fabulous by such names as Gloria Swanson, Joan Crawford, Mary Pickford, Judy Garland (yes, Judy too!) - let's be honest, I could write a book that included stars he outfitted with shoes - but the point is the very inventor of the cork wedge platform made it for starlets. Fergie Women's Quickset - a sexy shoes that comes in a variety of uppers : gold, black snake, blue snake, chesnut sna- ... lots of snakes there. Anywayyyy... this is a beautiful shoe to pair with a pair (see what I did thar?) of skinny jeans, fat jeans, wide legged jeans, wide butts, skinny butts. It's a great pair of shoes, is what I'm trying to say. And at less than $60, you can have a really balanced cork wedge platform shoe.

My next recommendation? Guess Womens Jingman. At $89.00? These are sexy sexy sexy. But, and this is a big but, they're also flirty. They're that sort of shoe that makes you feel... girly, and pretty without the Bedazzler (Don't lie, I know you owned one once.) Great with jeans, beautiful with a summer dress, they'll even look amazing with a little black evening dress. Red carpet ? No. It's just not going to happen with a cork wedge platform.

Lastly, in my special considerations pile, is Vince Camuto Women's Blaze. Not cheap at $101.60, but not anywhere near an Emili Pucci either. (I'm not above spending $600 for a pair of shoes, but I draw the line at cork wedges for that much.) But we're not talking about Emilio (sorry Em!), we're talking about these lovely awesome gladiator sandal cork wedge platforms with the sexy little braided leather gold straps. What's so special about these? They have the cork (which means cushion, cushion, cushion) and they have a wood heel, which means office worthy! Black, sexy, hot, pencil-skirt-short-jacket-suit, office shoes. (*deep breath*) So yeah... I like them!

The fact that the wedge has support under the arch makes it very comfortable and easy to walk in. What makes the platform wedge so perfect is that it has support under the heel, toe and arch.

Wedge shoes have thousands of heel types, cork being the most popular. There are some spectacular cork wedge platform shoes. I actually love the new ones from Fergie and Jessica Simpson. It must take a star to realize the fun in funky. I love the look and, more importantly, the feel of the cork wedge. It has some really great qualities, not the least of which is they look freakin awesome.
